Tips For Keeping A Suit From Looking Stuffed

by Victor Santerino

When a man buys a suit he usually does not have to concern himself with the number of pockets that will be available. This is because the jacket and trousers combine to have anywhere from 7 to 12 pockets stitched into them.

Unfortunately many of the pockets that are on suits are for fashion purposes and should never actually be used. The reason for this is because a jacket or trouser can quickly look stuffed and misshapen.

I wrote this article to let men know where to put their gear and how to do it in a way that does not look terrible. Upon finishing this article you will know what to do with your items each time you are forced to carry them.

The best way to keep pockets from looking full is to not use them. This can be achieved in cold climates by using your coat pockets exclusively. I do not recommend this tactic for anybody that might be at risk of having their jackets looted.

For men that do not have the option of using a jacket to store their belongings in a jacket there is help. However, you will still be relegated to keeping most of your items out of your jacket.

Outer jacket pockets should never be used to put gear into. However, the inside pockets can be used if the item in question will not look like a lump showing through the jacket.

Trousers with back pockets can be used to hide items when the jacket is worn. The use of this method however, is only good when a man knows he will not be taking off his jacket.

The use of front pant pockets is acceptable, but only for thin items that will not cause too much bulk. Place items such as money clips and cell phones in these front pockets to keep them safe.
